Originally, this hospital began as a sanatorium, expanded in the
1960's
to include a center for mentally
challanged individuals and expanded again in 1979 to include a chronic
care facility. Although this particular
sanatorium was not the most beautiful, the
biggest, or the most intriguing - as the rest of them do - it had an
enchanting character that made the intense mission totally worth it.
This
was a typical case of, "more of the same." There were probably 15 or so
repetitive buildings.
I could be wrong, but the buildings looked like the typical
cottage style
buildings.
