This hospital has a pretty
fucked up layout.
It looked like a combination of a mini kirkbride, cottage style,
and modern architecture on one campus.
It was wierd, as if someone dropped these buildings down in different
periods of time.
After doing some reading, most of the buildings are Queen Anne style.
The site began as 22 buildings on several hundred acres and grew to
58 buldings on more than 900 acres. Currently, the property is
approximately 270 acres.
Other buildings are Greek Revival and Beaux Arts style.
Some were from the 1800's, 1900's, and 1940's, it definitely represents
all the different styles.
This hospital was also pretty much self contained, the patients did all
their own farming, maintenance, etc...
The buildings were all grouped together to leave room for all of the
farm land around the perimeter.
Cool place if you have a few minutes to spare. Watch out for the
coyotes.
Also the police spend some time on the grounds in the area near the
cottages.
The cages
make the buildings more cozy and homelike
