CANDYMAN
SANITORIUM
???? - 1992
Patients at this location who were too sick to
go
outside
were rolled outside to get
fresh air. Cribs were rolled out so infants could get daily
sun. Children were treated
quiTe well here. They had a building for arts and crafts, there
was a potato chip and
candyman, and from Gale's account this Sanitorium sounded pretty
peaceful.
Gale explains further that keeping the children's hands busy allowed
the mind to
rest
which was an important part of healing.
